New York | 20 x 24
Acrylic, plaster and resin on canvas, 20” x 24” x 1.5”
The objective of this piece was not actually to show New York and parts of New Jersey completely underwater. That was an ironic accident that resulted in depth and textures that photos can’t seem to do justice.
Instead, the piece is an invitation to explore interactive flood maps and see for yourself how some of the most iconic geographies of our time may be impacted by sea-level rise and flooding. Spoiler Alert: All places touched by the sea are impacted, in coming decades, not centuries.
All paintings in this Collection come with a handcrafted wooden frame, made locally using poplar wood and given a clear varnish for a natural finish.
